Legal Templates

Legal templates define reusable obligation mappings and notice file templates that are applied when generating compliance documents (SBOM, Notice, SOUP).

What you can do

  • View the current set of legal templates.
  • Create new templates for specific obligation types or notice file formats.
  • Edit existing templates — update text blocks, obligation mappings, formatting rules.
  • Delete templates that are no longer needed.

Template types

  • Obligation templates — define how specific license obligations translate into concrete compliance actions (e.g. "provide source code", "include copyright notice", "state changes").
  • Notice file templates — control the structure and content of generated attribution files.
